&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;New page&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div&gt;In some cases you want to clear the errorlog of a server of old data and start with a fresh one, but without a reboot. Especially in Sybase IQ, the IQ message file can become *very* big. There is a simple method to do this (only on Linux/Unix).&lt;br /&gt;
First copy the errorlog for archiving purposes and then create a new one like this:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
 cp &amp;lt;errorlog&amp;gt; &amp;lt;errorlog&amp;gt;_old&lt;br /&gt;
 &amp;gt; &amp;lt;errorlog&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
